Freepik is a source for free vectors, PSDs, icons, and photos. The platform uploads over 80 000 exclusive free resources every month, designed by Freepik’s team or the community of graphic designers and vector artists contributors.
Vecteezy is a platform that offers millions of free vector graphics contributed by artists from all over the world. Being such a big community of vector designers, Vecteezy adds fresh content each day and provides you with high-quality freebies.
Freepik has categorized all assets into 4 main categories: Vectors, PSD Files, Icons, and Stock Photos. You will also find many subcategories that will help you narrow your search. Some of the most popular categories of graphic resources are Background, Logo, Business card, Infographic, Banner, Pattern, Brochure, Frame, Flyer, and more.
When uploaded, all resources are tagged with relevant tags, so this is another convenient option to make specific searches.
Vecteezy has a huge diversity of resources categorized into sections like Backgrounds, Icons, Elements, Patterns, Food, Plant, Animals, Nature, and more. The browsing options allow you to filter your results by license type, orientation, best match, or newest results.
You can also use tags to search specific graphics. If you are a contributor, you need to tag your resources relevantly.
Freepik allows you to use all free resources for personal and commercial projects. However, when you use free resources, you must give credit to the author by using the line “Designed by Freepik” or the author’s name. Attribution isn’t required if you are a premium user. Have in mind that if you are downloading third-party content, you need to abide by the author’s licenses for use.
We must note that if you plan to mass sell your designs, the resources provided by Freepik cannot be the main elements of your design. Use them as backgrounds or secondary elements. Graphics downloaded on Freepik cannot be trademarked, as well.
Vecteezy has 4 license types that allow you to use the graphics in different ways.
Most graphics come with a Standard license which means that you can use them in premium and commercial projects by giving attribution to the author.
If you don’t want to give attribution, you need to buy the Premium license which also gives you access to Premium resources.
The Creative Commons license regards free resources which can be used under the Creative Commons guidelines.
Editorial Use Only license forbids you from using the graphic on any kind of commercial and promotional use.
If you are not a registered user of Freepik, you cannot download resources from the websites.
As a registered free user you have 20 downloads per month. You cannot carry forward your downloads to the next month.
If you are a premium user, this number increases to 100 downloads per day.
Vecteezy doesn’t have limitations on the number of downloads per day. However, registered users can download files much faster than non-registered users.
Freepik’s Premium plan currently costs $14.99 charged monthly or $10 per month charged annually. Becoming a premium user means that:
Vecteezy offers Premium subscriptions and credit plans. You can buy one-time credits for a fixed number of downloads, subscribe for a fixed number of downloads each month, or sign up for the Unlimited plan starting from $9 per month. Here are the benefits:
Freepik allows you to like design pieces and leave comments. You can also follow artists of your choice. While everyone can like a graphic resource, you need to be a registered user in order to comment or follow.
In order to interact with Vecteezy’s community, you need to make a free account. The platform lets you save different resources to favorites and leave reviews and comments on other people’s assets.
You don’t have to limit yourself to using only one source for vector graphics on the web. Both platforms Freepik vs Vecteezy provide amazing resources for free and enrich their catalogs of assets daily. We, personally admire both websites’ missions to contribute to the web with beautiful vector designs.
