GraphicMama presents Character Animator Puppets at Futuro Festival

Summer is time for vacations, activities, events and the season to collect some inspiration for the winter (or at least that is what we think creatives do). Well, GraphicMama‘s team decided to combine all of these by participating in Futuro4 – Digital Art Festival,  where we also shared our fascination with Character Animator puppets.

In this article, you will learn how GraphicMama was involved in this art hub and will have a hint of our master illustrator’s lecture at Futuro – introducing Adobe Character Animator.

After that, we will mention some great international artists who gave inspiration and insightful lectures at the festival – just to keep you excited for our next article!

GraphicMama prepares for the festival

Futuro festival (#futurovarna) was infusing inspiration and creative vibes into the visitorsøs heads and hearts for a total of 3 days – 24-26 August. 2Create studio and GraphicMama supported the event by providing cool stickers for the guests, designing cool sketchbooks and calendars, delivering on the overall graphic design for the event and even hosting the fest! Have a look at some of the beauties with which we surprised the guests:

Hot topic for the digital art and creative industries – puppets!

Maybe you haven’t heard of Adobe Character Animator Puppets yet? Their popularity is constantly growing amongst creative studios, educational institutions, business and marketers as a useful tool for campaigning, advertising and training. That is also why GraphicMama picked Character Animator Puppets for a lecture topic at the festival.

Actually, GraphicMama studio is one of the first studios to offer creating designs/puppets for Adobe Character Animator software and one of the first studios to test the software when it first came out to the market.GraphicMama also made a small landing page, introducing the audience to the wide range of possibilities the puppets have to offer – read more at GraphicMama custom puppets.

GraphicMama gives a fun lecture on Character Animator Puppets

GraphicMama’s master illustrator – Nick (Nikolay Stanev) – gave a lecture on 26th August – how to create your very own, funny Character Animator Puppets – he guided us from the preparation of files, through puppet functionalities til finished products and what you can use them for.

Curious to see a sneak peek of the creation process of a puppet? We got you! Here, for example, is a preview of one made from a series of selfies, cut into particular parts and assembled in Photoshop file, ready to be used in Adobe Character Animator:

You can see the puppet from the photo in its full glory and even learn how to create your very own puppet in our blog article.

And here Nikolay Stanev (Nick) shows a vector character design – a Santa’s elf – in action – a vector graphic design is structured into a puppet file (animated actions and triggers are assigned), and then the ready puppet is opened in Adobe Character Animator software:

If you have a character design, you can always prepare it easily into a puppet – its animated version. In the photo above, Nick demonstrates how with the help of the software and a cam, you can use facial tracking and apply it to your design. He also shows how a microphone captures your voice and translates it into a lipsync action for the puppet.

After Nick’s presentation, part of GraphicMama’s team gathered for a group photo. Here are our Social Media Diva – Iveta, customer support Wonderwoman – Billy, our Technical support magician, designer, and photographer – Lyudmil and the leader of the team – Nick:
