Several artists have contacted GraphicMama about a new phishing attack, in which scammers are presenting themselves as part of the GraphicMama team. We would like to inform you that these emails have not been sent by a GraphicMama team member and we ask you not to respond to them. Here is more information about the attack and what actions you can take if you receive a similar email.
What is the scam?
The emails are sent from fake email addresses such as [email protected], [email protected], and other similar ones. They are representing themselves as part of the GraphicMama recruitment team and are currently contacting people about a job opportunity. They arrange and conduct an interview with you, asking for personal information, and then request you to purchase software using Bitcoins.
How to find out if it is a phishing attack?
If you receive a similar or another suspicious email, please check the following things before replying to the email:
- GraphicMama would not contact you using Gmail accounts.
- We do not use Bitcoin and for all the payments on GraphicMama’s website, we use our own platform.
- We interview in person and we never use a chat platform for this purpose.
- We are currently not looking for new designers.
- We will never ask you to provide any personal data using ICQ or other platforms.
